Council of Minister Decree

 

The council of minister issued decree number 2 on August 2004 for a steering committee to be formed from a number of IT professionals. The Committee membership was revised in November 2005 to reflect the changes that were associated with the Peace Agreement signature.

GoS eGovernment Roadmap

 

The eGovernment initiative will be approached as follows:

 
  1. Environment Scanning and Information Gathering

  2. E-Government Strategy Formation

  3. E-Government Projects Identification and Definition

  4. E-Government Project Planning and Implementation

  5. Review and Monitoring

GoS eGovernment Steering Committee

 

The eGovernment Steering Committee was formed in August 2004 to lay the foundation for the national initiative. The Committee mandate consists of:

 
  1. Formulate the eGovernment strategic plan

  2. Recommend the most suitable implementation approach

  3. Orchestrate the environment scanning activities to assess current capabilities.

  4. Establish the organization structure for the management team

eGovernment Project

 

The eGovernment initiative is an important element of the effort of transforming the government into a more effective entity that will better serve the citizen.
The initiative consists of a portfolio of projects classified under; infrastructure projects, process reform, capacity building programs and legislations revision and update.
