The National Information Centre is mandated with establishing, implementing and monitoring the standards and policies that govern the IT activities across the government sector. This role is expected to be extended to private sector eventually. Current efforts are taking place to formulate a comprehensive set of policies and standards covering at minimum the following key areas:

• Telecommunications

• Wireless: LANS, WDCN, Security
