Sudani Newspaper and NIC Arrange the First Press
Symposium
The first press
symposium was organised under the title
"E-readiness". The symposium discussed the role
of the NIC and the key projects housed within it
that are aiming to establish the fundamental
blocks for the future eGovernment. Osman
Merghani, a renowned journalist with the Al
Sudani newspaper, started off by providing the
audience with a full background on the idea of
the symposium and how it all started. Dr Ahmed
Abdelgadir, NIC manager, then gave a full
account of the NIC role and its projects. Mr.
Alhibir Alsiddig, a project manager with the
NIC, introduced the E-readiness initiative in
cooperation with the UNDP.
